Runs an active Private Practice in Elardus Park, Pretoria since 1983.
Registered with the HPCSA as Counselling Psychologist and specialises in Sport Psychology since January 1994. Works in both the Counselling and Sport Psychology fields.
BA, BA Hons. Psych. & M.A. Psych. all obtained from University of Pretoria., Certif. in Basic Sport Science (UP), Dennis Glencross Certif. of the International Society of Sport Psychology in Basic Sport Psychology.
Advanced level training in Clinical Hypnosis and other relevant Psycho-Therapy Techniques.
Member of PSySSA (Psychology Society of South Africa) SASCH (South African Society of Clinical Hypnosis) as well as ISSP (International Society of Sport Psychology) and ECSS (European College of Sport Sciences)…also full-member of SASMA (South African Sports Medicine Association) and MEISA (Milton Ericson Institute of South Africa).
Work within all the different sport disciplines in SA from Professional and National level to social sport participation and from senior to school level. Work with individual athletes as well as teams.
Appointed Sport Psychologist to: TUKS Gymnastics and Trampoline Academy (2004 -2009), TUKS – Swimming-Satellite Warmbaths (2000 – 2009), SA Clay Target-Shooters (2004 -2010), SA Wrestling team (2009 - 2010) North-Gauteng Jnr Chess Team (2008), North-Gauteng Wheelchair-Rugby Team (2004) and for 2005, to the Springbok Wheelchair-Rugby Team. SA Men and Women’s Lawn Bowls Teams (2001). Also previously did the level 2 psychology training (IRB) for the Blue Bulls Refereeing Association.
Academic involvement includes part time lecturing in Sport Psychology at the University of Pretoria and 2001-2005 at the Tswane University of Technology.
July 2009 – part of research program of Dr. Anthony Watt, Victoria Univ., Melbourne, Australia on “Golfers’ use of Imagery to enhance their performance.”
Presented numerous Conference Papers, nationally as well as internationally, as well as radio talks (Radio Rippel & RSG), on the use of psychology and hypnosis to enhance sport performance.
Invited in 2002, 2004, 2005 by the NOC of Namibia as speaker at their Coaches & Athletes Training Workshops. Worked with the Namibian National Equestrian Team in 2005.
Co-author of The Runner’s Reference, a practical guide for Runners (and Walkers) with Dr Jacques Rossouw, Karen Graham and Francé Rossouw... and as seen on SABC 2-Seleng 2006.
Active member of the A.S Eagles Sport Club…as roadrunner, and previously also member of Speke Cycling Club. Completed several ultra-marathons including the Comrades Marathon, London Marathon and Cape Argus.
